SCALE MUST SHAPE THE ROUTE
One clear regional direction
Central Hokkaido: Sapporo can provide an urban gateway, with food, agriculture, onsen and selected landscape-based experiences forming the next stage.
Southern Hokkaido: Hakodate and the surrounding area can connect port history, food and landscape while providing a possible link with northern Honshu.
Eastern Hokkaido: National parks, wetlands, wildlife, coast and a stronger sense of distance can support a nature-led journey requiring more time and operational planning.
Northern Hokkaido: Remote landscapes, islands and seasonal outdoor experiences may suit highly focused briefs where distance is part of the purpose.
These areas should not automatically be combined.
